    antique Sgian Dubh

Gentlemen/Gentleladies - I'm interested in any published information on older sgian dubh. From my initial looking they all seem to be the same design going back to the year dot. Any suggestions? Any UK connections?

What are you looking for? The history of the sgian dubh, or how the design has changed over time?

Sorry, misread your initial post. You want to try and secure a copy of:

The Scottish Dirk by James D. Forman, Museum Restoration Service, PO Box 70, Alexandria Bay, NY 13607-0070, USA. It has a excellent section on sgians dubh.

Forman also did an excellent article on The Evolution of the Sgian Dubh which appeared in the February, 1982 edition of "Arms Collecting Magazine".

thank ou very much. I found a copy on ABEBooks and placed the order. Unfortunately, it's in the UK and the shipping cost more than the book.
however, education has a cost regardless of your ambition

...of course some can go overboard with it. I'm reminded of the US lass who went into debt with student loans to the tune of $90,000.00 US to fund her Fine Art Degree.
