My first kilt!! (pics)
Hi guys!
I just got my first kilt!
Ater opening the thread '' Days of disappointments '' in the USA kilts section, Robin contacted me and asked what my measurements were. I replied and then he told me that he had a kilt in my exact measurements that he could let me have...for free! But that's not all, he was also going to give me all the accessories needed! How generous is that?
He sent it to me on monday and only three days later I received the package.
The goods that the package contained.
The kilt is a MacLennan Modern 8 yards 16/17oz worsted wool (Lochcarron Strome) pleated to the stripe. Handmade in Scotland by Stewart Rendall.
Details of the pleats.
Wait for more!

Nice you received it this soon...and without being bothered by the customs.
The dark blue woolen "thingies" are tie-them-yourself flashes from the House of Bruar.
You can use the elastic bands from the plain flashes for the tartan flashes also.
The kiltpin is made by John Goode & Sons, hallmarked Birmingham 1914.
I didn't had a black sporran, so there's a mission for you
For the brown sporran find a brown wide casual belt.
Looks like you still have to figure out how to put the kiltbelt together. Hint: there's a small buckle on the inside of the belt
(When the belt is a bit too long...a leatherworker or shoe repair shop can fix this by moving the small buckle a bit)
The black leather sporran strap can be handy for a future black sporran.
Looks like the kilt fits nicely...and the lenght seems perfect.
Happy kilting!
