Any Wood Badgers out there?
I recently posted a picture of me in my scout uniform and a kilt and by doing so found out there are a few Wood Badgers out there. Just wondering if there are any others.
I am a Buffalo from SR-492
I also have the distinction of being the only one in my council with a tattoo of my critter!

That's a great tattoo.
Thanks for starting this thread. As I noted in the other thread:
I used to be an Eagle..... NC-146 (1983) (Medicine Mountain, Black Hills South Dakota)
and many more as a staff member until......
Course Director C-11L-95 (Camp Wilderness, Minnesota - Northern Lights Council) -- so now four beads
BTW, we had trouble with the Buffalo Patrol in an area of the country where they are Bison.

I am a fox. A good ol fox too, and when I'm finished foxing, I don't know what I'll do. Back to Gilwell, happy land. Got my first set of woggles back in 1985 and have gotten two more since.

I used to be a Bear... and I can BEAR NO MORE!!! SR-211 (1997). Finished my ticket in mid '99 (kinda sqeaked in). Side note: The Course Director was once a leader in the troop I was once SPL in.
Another side note: I went to the World Scout Jamboree in '07 (the 100th anniversary of Scouting), and was originally signed up to be International Service Team (IST). Guess where I was to be assigned - Gilwell!!! I wound up accompanying the Kentucky contingent troop as a last minute replacement (got the call the Friday before we left on Monday) for a leader who became ill, so I didn't get to work there. We did visit for a day during the Jamboree, so I can say I've been there - Happy Land!

I used to be a beaver and a good ol' beaver too!
National Capital Area Council, 82-80.
Three beads for me. I picked up a new set when I visited Gilwell in 2006 made from a very old tree on the property.
One of these days I'd like to get a McLaren kilt to wear to Scouting events.

I just got the email confirmation from Jerry! I will have a MacLaren kilt in a couple of days. I can not believe how bad I am jonesing already. My wife is just laughing and pointing at me pacing around the house.

Not me, but my wife has her wood badge. I was last active in scouting as a cub scout, LOL! I did go to Gilwell, though!
I offered to buy her a Maclaren kilted skirt, but she only wants one in her clan tartan (Davidson).
Actually, any scout can wear the Maclaren tartan, it's only the scarf with that little swatch on it that you have to have your wood badge to wear. Even having been a cub scout should entitle me to wear Maclaren, I suppose. Of course, a Maclaren kilt is only scout uniform in Scotland, or elsewhere in the UK if you are of Scottish descent. The right to wear it and the uniform rules are two different things.

It's not a big deal. The WB course that I attended was in the Black Hills of South Dakota "where the buffalo roam." Most people in South Dakota realize that (I believe) what we call buffalo are not buffalo but bison. The mascot for North Dakota State University is the Bison.
