    Travels with Monkey Part I

I have been some what delinquent in organizing my holiday photos for the past 6 months or so. Here’s some of the mostly unbifurcated highlights at home and abroad:

Up in the woods outside of Lake Tahoe on the California-Nevada border, we spotted Big Foot:

During our annual pilgrimage to Legoland, we resisted the Dark Side:

A lot of people at the Grand Canyon acted very surprised to see a guy in a kilt:

    indeed the Mule Wrangler
we encountered on the trail said he had never seen one of any variety, and that it had been the talk of the employees.

Our big trip, however, was a cruise in the Mediterranean.

Only saw one other kiltie on formal night, but I did run into these unbirfurcated chaps in Athens, Greece. They weren’t very chatty, however.

Here’s a bonus pic of Santorini:

    Travels with Monkey Part II

I just came back from a visit to Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico. Day time was swim wear, but nights belonged to kilts:

This lovely lady is Maria Jimena, a very talented singer/songwriter.

Here we see a monkey eating crickets (a local delicacy):

Bonus pics - baby sea turtles & leaping stingrays:

    Best regards,

    Jake

Great photos. I was a diver from 1973 to 1997. In that time I logged over 1500 dives, from the cold Northern California waters to Australia's Great Barrier reef, but I never saw a ray leap from the water. That has to be one of the coolest photos I have ever seen, and you saw it in person. I have two words for your experience,...Well Done!

    Jake,

    Great pictures!

Though when I look at the manikin wearing the Fusinilla (sp?) and the shoes draped over its shoulders I have to wonder what the relationship is with men in skirts and pom poms?

    Cheers

Well we were quite surprised. We had been hoping to spot some sea turtles or dolphins, and then we saw two or more stingrays repeatedly leaping out of the water and landing with a loud slap. It was rather hard to get a pic with my old digital camera, but I captured this one also:

    Best regards,

    Jake
