What to wear with a Blackwatch Kilt

I have just recently started to wear my BW kilt out and about. Untill recently it was just a pair of UK's, one black and ome OD green. the problem i face now, is matching a shirt with the colors in the kilt. If i wear black then its all washed out in dark colors, i have one pair of black hose.

I have reviewed the Casual pics, as this is how I plan on wearing this kilt till i get some formal accessories. But the only shirts ppl are wearing is white. is there another option?

Should be able to wear just about any color shirt with it and look fine. If you're going casual (how casual? boots?) with hose scrunched down, the black hose would probably still look okay, matching hose would be great/better, depending on the situation

I would wear the black watch just like jeans - casually with sweatshirt, t-shirt, button down, sweater, turtle neck... blue, green, black, off-white, white...

Pick your poison. Boots, shoes..... for me hose always pulled up but to each his own.

Well, I've passed the torch of color coordenation to Nanook, but look at it this way. The blue and the green are basically nutral. You do have those black stripes, but not too big of a deal.

So, Make sure your leathers, shoes belt sporran, are all the same color range.

Plain brown does not go well with black and usually not with gray. I'm not talking about red-ish brown and those colors. So, just keep that in mind and it should work out.

Look at trying khaki shirt and hose. Also, a pale green shirt and lovat green hose work well to. Either combo will provide teh contrast you seem to be looking for.

No white hose. Never never never. You'll offend the Gods.

I agree. The Black Watch tartan is almost as neutral as blue jeans. So, you can wear many colors with this tartan. Wear the same color shirt and hose to produce a balanced appearance.

Since no one has posted any pictures of their various Blackwatch pictures let me be the first.

A simple casual look with a nice rugby shirt and scrunched down soccer socks.

A close up of the same.

What I would consider a very military look.

Another military look with a military sweater. Notice on both pictures that for what I consider a military look I have used something that either is ex-military clothing or chose matching shirt and hose, i.e., uniformity.

That Rogerson is a spiffy dresser. Do like and you can't go wrong.

But it's true that almost anything goes with the BW kilt. Enjoy it and send photos.
