    Spring is on the way!

Well I kinda hate it since it means the ski season is almost over, but a little friend dropped by to let me know spring is on the way.

I was out walking and getting to know my new camera when this little bluebird decided to pose for me.

Nice shot! It's pretty cool when animals stop and let us take a good picture like that.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

    That's a really good shot.

Last week, I was taking a walk with my granddaughter (22 months old) when I spotted the first bluebird of the season. The cardinals had already moved back into the bush outside my bedroom window.

And this Friday and Saturday it's going to be in the 70s and sunny in Atlanta. Woo-hoo! Sounds like there may be a picnic with the grandchildren at Stone Mountain this weekend.

Yep, we'll have some cold days yet (never, and I mean never, plant your flowers before Mother's Day), but Spring is coming.

Thanks! Taken with a Sony Alpha 700 using a 80 - 300mm lens., overcast day. I think with the conversion from using my regular 35mm lens to the new digital camera makes this lens a 120 - 425 mm zoom. I would wager a guess at being 100 yards away from this guy when I took it.

For that kind of yardage that is a great shot.
Don't you just love the new cameras that are out there now and the digital imaging technology.
The Robins and Woodpeckers were back 2 weeks ago but we are predicted to have SNOW for the next 4 Days.
