Last night the Dropkick Murphys opened a sold out six day seven concert series here in Boston. Each night has a pre-concert party at McGreevy's Pub. Having scored tickets to the opening night event, I donned my kilt and headed to the pre-concert party. This is their traditional set for Saint Patrick's Day, so I chose my Irish National, a green football jersey, flashes, hose, and brogues. I was greeted as soon shortly after arriving by Scruffy Wallace, the band's bagpiper in his DKM tartan kilt. We shared a bit of small talk as I was waiting for my dinner at the bar. The conversation opened after I mentioned that we both had the same kiltmaker.

Sorry for the poor quality of the two of us at McGreevy's. It is my cell phone, and the lighting is low, after all it is a sports bar owned by Casey, the DKM leader. I am on the left and Scruffy is on the right.

The concert was an awesome take. I ran into three other kilted gents there, and passed along this forums URL. I also had five separate kilt checks before the concert started. All be lasses that were both quite young and quite under the influence of beer. The house was packed and there was a lot of human contact. Several of the lasses were photographed with one or another of us kilted gents. There boyfriends received information about this forum, as they expressed an interest in the kilt. (written on the back of Rocky's business cards.)

I returned to McGreevy's after the concert, for some more pictures with the concert going lasses. Some great conversation about kilts and bagpiping.

The return ride home on the Orange Line subway got kilting inquiries from a few young gents and a lot of thumbs up from others.

An absolutely wonderful evening kilted.
