First parade today!
Just felt like mentioning that my 11-year-old and I marched with our band in our first parade today in the small town of Emporia, KS. You know you're in a small-town parade when one of the entries is a line of vintage tractors.
After that, we had a pub gig that we only stayed at for about an hour. Then we lost our chops, and my kiddo was a little uncomfortable being in a crowded bar with lots of loud people that he assumed were hammered. They weren't -- they were just being loud and goofy and having fun -- but we decided to head out anyway.
The parade was a lot of fun. A big rush, and people seem genuinely entertained and appreciative of pipers.
Sorry -- no pics from today, but I'm making sure I have my camera Tuesday for our first St. Paddy's Day parade. Photos will be posted. Oh yes -- photos will be posted.
