    Utilikilts has me down..

Back in early February I ordered a new kilt form Utilikilts. This will have been my 6th UK.

The first one they sent me was the wrong waist size. I ordered a 34" waist and they sent me one with a 32" waist.. So I shipped that back and almost 3 weeks later (yesterday) I receive a replacement. Problem is, the replacement they sent is the wrong length! I ordered 21.5" and they sent 24.5"..

I called them again last night and told them that they, again, sent the wrong size. They promised to send me a shipping label to send it back to them.. Problem is, it's going to be another 3 weeks at least until I get it back because they're not shipping a different kilt. They said they're going to crop this current one to size.. God only knows how long all of this will take..

I certainly hope that this isn't indicative of their cutomer service as of late...

Scrap UK- get a USA Kilts kilt. I have never had anything but good experiences with Amerikilt, as well.

I wrote UK an email this morning and I just received a response. They do seem apologetic and said they will try to get me a new one ASAP. Even if they haven't yet received the one I need to ship back to them.

The USA casuals look pretty good. Especially if I can get them with a "jeans waist".. How comfortable are they?

As an alternative to dealing with Utilikilts directly, there are several reputable UK dealers on eBay. Next time around you might want to set your eBay account to watch for your size and style. You'll get an email every time one with your specs is listed--including used ones that will save you a few bucks.

I'd go with Alpha Kilts, or Celtic Warrior Kilts if you like the "modern" or MUG style. I used to love UK, but I'm less impressed as time goes on, and there are lots of great merchants on this board that I'd go with.

Casuals? I don't know- I have a semitrad and a 5 yard wool, and both are exceptional. AND the customer service is (as you will find all over this board) second to none. They're well worth the money.
