USAK U.S. Navy kilt review
It's been a couple of weeks now since I got my kilt from Rocky. I finally got my daughter to come over early enough in the evening that we could get a few pictures taken:
It doesn't really hang that well on the hangers...
I'm amazed at how well Rocky and company matched up the tartan for the belt loops and buckles, but I guess it's nothing new to the old hands here...

More on the USAK U.S. Navy
Here are a couple as worn...
Thorfin Sporran and flashes by J. Higgins:
The pleat shot didn't come out all that well, but it was too dark to do over by the time I noticed.
I'll add some more with a jacket and waistcoat when my new belt and sporran strap arrive from Oconee Leather works. Are you listening Steve?
This is one of the last Edzell tartans in P.V. from USAK. When I ordered it Rocky said he didn't believe he would get any more of the Edzell made in P.V. I believe he said he had to pay a surcharge and it just wasn't cost effective. He can get the Edzell in wool with no problem.

Looks great. How do those sporran hangers work for you? Thought about getting a pair myself, but I rigged some fasteners to the straps on my belt and i really like that. Gives that "chain" effect without the extra leather starp bunching up on me in the back...

That's a sharp looking kilt. I've been leaning toward USAK for my next purchase and I'm leaning farther now.
As tough as it is to admit for an Army Brat, that tartan is a handsome one. (You'll have to forgive me, I spent the better part of last week having to repeatedly congratulate my old boss who's a SEAL vet... all that Navy-praise probably has my dad spinning in his grave).

Love the color matching they did on the construction, looks really well done.

Andy,
I'm not really sold on the sporran hangers, but they seem to work better than the sporran chain that came with my original sporran. The chain was much too long and had to be looped back on itself, so I gave it and the original sporran to a friend who is MUCH larger around the middle than I.
I have a new belt and sporran strap on order from Oconee Leather Works and I'm hoping I'll find the sporran strap more useful and comfortable. I'll post a review on those when I've had some time to evaluate.
