One for the mil buffs - Rifles Dress regulations
found this on the net with the restructure of the Infantry Regiments there have been lots of changes to Dress Regulations. I came across this very precise document which details the regulations for The Rifles. i'm not surprised that they have produced a document of this details as they are getting a very good name name for themselves. Wondered how this compared to some of the US regulations??

Thank you for posting this. This unit, as it has now emerged, has IMHO, a GLORIOUS past reflected by the units that have been merged to form it.
My interest in this unit, is because of my historical interest in it's early antecedents.
BTW, here is a site that interest you also. http://www.riflesdirect.com/index.asp

A bit off topic, but the Sharpe Series by Bernard Cornwell about Richard Sharpe and The Rifles is outstanding. We have a group dedicated to the series over on Shelfari. If you are interested check it out.

Thank you sir, I find it almost strange NOT to be interested in the Highland Regiments or Armed Forces and be a kilt aficionado, for me the two go together like the Highland Games and Scottish Dancing; they all just blend together quite nicely.

I am afraid that the Gloucestershire Regiment, the "Glorious Glosters",who have the most battle honours of any regiment in the British army have been amalgamated into The Rifles. However,I note with pride and with no surprise whatsoever, that The Rifles are making a name for themselves.

The current MOD has amalgamated an entire roster of regiments almost out of existence. I'm not surprised that the Gloucestershire Regiment was hit by this mindless policy as well.
Disgusting way to honor those who fought and died to make Great Britain what it is, and was.

I think its worth pointing out that the Glosters had already been amalgamated in 1994
