Kilt pins: Are you thinking of forgetting them?

I recently lost a nice kilt pin and was lamenting the loss to a friend. He stated "I'ts the queens ***** in any case. Good riddance!"

I started thinking he had a point.

My son seems ok so far being short his, but, even though the help is minimal, i find that it does help keep the kilt down a little in the front. I didn't like nearly flashing that daycare the other day (And I bet anyone interested in looking got that question answered...) funny thing is when I got home the wind was all gone. My wife was, almost aghast, but it wasn't windy earlier in the day.

I actually have never used one, but I did just order one. It can get a bit windy here in West Michigan, and I do feel bad when someone gets an unsolicited flash of what I keep under the kilt. I do, however, worry about losing one because I like the way they look and they aren't the cheapest things...not expensive, but I don't feel like replacing them a lot.

I have one for every kilt, but to each his own.

I have a few. I wear one whenever I remember to, especially when I'm planning on dressing up or if it's windy.

I'm with cousin Glen. I bought off on Ham's "A Kilt Pin For Every Kilt" philosophy. I use the piece of rubber band on the back to save the pin in case the clasp comes loose.

Even like some of the multiple kilt pin looks.

But I don't believe the kilt pin has much to do with keeping the apron down. Whichever way the wind blows either the apron or the underapron is gonna provide "coverage."

And shopping for and ordering up kilt pins is a lovely little addiction in itself and can help minimize the jones when waiting for a new kilt.

Now - a true kilt pin addict will find a kilt pin, THEN order a kilt to go with it.

I also have a kilt pin for each kilt. I try to get them in the clan crest of whatever tartan the kilt is. Just another cool way of honoring the kilt and tartan!

The fact of the matter is that if it wasn't for the "Queen" or the royal family the kilt would more then likely be nothing more then a brief tiny bit of history.

I say god save the queen!! And her kilt pin.

I wear a kilt pin when I dress up, but forgo the pin when dressed casually.

I do not own a kilt pin. I haven't found one that strikes me. I have seen a lot of nice pins here on the forum, but nothing that really calls to my credit card. So until I find that one pin, I will skulk in the shadows and endure the finger pointing and the whispering behind my back "look he's pinless, don't get near him,...it might be contagious." The things we endure for our principles.
