I just found out about a talk/discussion at the UpCountry History Museum in Greenville on Friday night. Unfortunately, I've been tapped for an out of state extradition on Friday, and so will not be able to attend. However, I thought I'd toss it out here, in case anyone has the evening free and is in the area.

Here's the link:

and here's the little blurb on the site:

McBee Lecture - This Friday
Dr. Benjamin Dunlap
May 1, 2009
7:00 - 8:00pm
at the Greenville Little Theater

“The Scots-Irish in the South Carolina Upcountry: A Volatile Heritage.” His talk will be a lively combination of general, military, and personal history of the Scots-Irish, beginning with their early settlement in the Port Royal area (along with his forebears), following their migration to the Upcountry, and polishing off with a true but very funny story of his own similar “misadventures.”

I hope someone can attend, and enjoy the show, I'm sorry I have to miss it, but duty calls ....
