My lovely young wife and I attended the Monterey games last year (in July, I believe) and enjoyed them very much. It's not a big games, but a nice one nonetheless, especially the Drum Major competition.

The Monterey Games will the the first annual Nor Cal - So Cal Masters Team Championships. The Championships will be contested on Sunday, with top Masters throwers from around the State. Look for at least a couple 100+ foot hammer throws, several 50+ foot light weight for distance throws and the general hilarity of

"Old Guys Rule".

I'll be there, throwing on Sunday. The Team Championships was my "baby", now whether I qualify to represent Nor Cal on the team, is another question!

I'm with the City of Sacramento Pipe Band and will be going to the games.

The Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess and I always enjoy the Monterey Games.

Sadly this year we will miss attending them with the Nor Cal Rabble as we will be visiting with the XMTS Rabble to the far North

The 2008 Monterey games were Scooby and my first ones ever and we had a great time. My coffee roaster is a local highland athelete and encouraged us to come down.
They are on my calendar for this year as well.

So, who's planning to go to Monterey and when? I had been thinking of going for the weekend and going to the Ceilidh, but it seems as though everyone I talk to is going only on Sunday. Does anyone here plan to be there on Saturday?
