Kilt behaving funny-Any ideas

Hey y'all-
I'm wearing my Isle of Skye kilt today (Giving my MAtt Newsome box pleat a res!!) for my daughter Skye's 2nd birthday. This kilt is an 8 yard machine stitched from Scotweb, and has been flawless since I got it. Today I noticed that when I'm walking, the front Apron begins to bunch under the sporran. I tuck it down, but the minute I start walking, it happens again. Its not buckled too tight (Its where I've always buckled it. Any ideas why this is happening and what to do to stop it?!?!?!?

I too have this problem sometimes. I got a smoother chain for my sporran and that fixed the problem for me...

I agree, it might be the chain. Though, if this is the same chain you have been using all along, it might not be. I find that this happens to me sometimes when the underapron gets a little bunched or out of whack when I put the kilt on. Once I smooth out the underapron the problem is solved.

Maybe try putting the pleats upfront. The extra weight may hold it down.

Along with Daniel's directive, I might suggest wearing a flat cap. At an angle, of course.

Not to ask a sensitive question, but are you still the same size that you've always been? Adding a little girth can throw off the fit of your kilt.

If I'm understanding your problem correctly you are saying that the aprons seem to get caught under the sporran and the apron hem rises up.

Every time I have seen this it was due to the sporran being worn too low.
If your Kilt is being worn at your natural waist, and the sporran is just under the belt buckle the sporran should be resting on your stomach.

If the sporran strap is too loose or it has slid down in back the sporran drops under the stomach and will bunch up the aprons every time.

I see this most often with new Kilt wearers who seem to think that the sporran is some sort of crotch protector. Or if a sporran is worn with a Kilt that is being worn at lower than Traditional height then it forces the sporran down too low.

But you know how to wear the Kilt and sporran. And you say you have worn this particular outfit before with no problem. So I guess I must be wrong in my assessment.
