Help in translating and pronunciation to Gaelic

On Pentecost Sunday we are going to "speak in tongues." We are all going to read the following in different languages. I said I would do Gaelic, is that what the old Scottish language was? If not translated to what I should be saying and let me know. Since I wear a kilt I said I would have someone translate to me the following and also some pronunciation. It probably won't matter if I make mistakes as there will be many of us reading at once in different languages.

    >>Acts 2.1 -4 When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And Suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.<<

If you want to message me privately you can. I don't want a bunch of translations or pronunciations. Thanks very much. Needed by May 22, so I can practice.

    DALE.

You don't have to be Scottish to be comfortable!

That's a tall order. If you can get your reading changed to something from the book of Mark, maybe I can help. The book of Mark is online in Scottish Gaelic on the following website:

Unfortunately, no other books of the bible are available.

Tips on pronounciation are available in the following Wiki article:

Tall order indeed. I am trying to learn Gaelic and I'm still working on the numbers and the days of the week! It is very difficult!

you could either do standard Scots ,Lallans or Doric you'd have a easier time of learning what to say than you would with Gaelic either one of the 4 is still representing scotland though

Good luck on the project. Sounds like a lot of work for the time allotted. Pronunciation will take longer than translation, Gaelic isn't very intuitive for English speakers to pronounce.

Try this link - he appears to have both Old and New Testament in Scots Gaelic.
