Hammer/caber gloves
I wear these:

They're Bamboo with nitrile palms. Oh, I wish I'd had them at Livermore, where it was so freaking hot I couldn't hold on to the hammer handle!
The bamboo breathes better than cotton and the brown color doesn't give me a stomachache like the bright yellow and blue ones which are generally available. They grip like crazy and are pretty nice to have for caber, too. However, the weights for distance and height handles will rip them up quickly, so tape up for those, instead.

re
They look pretty good and it's good they are breatheable.
I used gloves starting out and one day took them off and seem to do much better without them now. Now just a little talcum powder on hammer. For caber I like to put tree sap right between my fingers so when they interlock they remain locked together easier.

A little tacky on the fingers for caber is a good thing, and if I'm not wearing the gloves that's exactly what I do.
Talcum powder. Dang...that would have helped with the sweating.
