What does wearing a kilt mean to you?
I was reading one of the other threads about people not wearing kilts and it got me thinking. What does wearing a kilt mean to you? For me, it kinda started with a workaround at work. We can't wear shorts, but we can wear kilts. It often gets hot in the office and this seems to be a good way to stay cool. However, it's turning into a little more. A way of showing my individuality. I work in Boston, MA so you don't see many kilted men around.
So, what does wearing a kilt mean to you and why do you?

For me, wearing the kilt started for reasons of style and comfort. Heritage has recently become a big part as well.

I've been aware of my heritage for a while, but never quite considered actually wearing a kilt.
Then one day, I wondered if I would actually have the baws to wear a kilt. I told myself I did so I ordered one.
And a bit over a year later, here I am, feeling 20 feet tall every time I walk around in my kilt.
In short, to me, it means an affirmation of one's manhood and freedom to dress any bloody way I want to.

The core reason I wear a kilt is a symbol of heritage. I do however where it as a source of expression and individualty, both which stem back to my heritage...
