Blairsville Scottish Festival June 12-14
I know the Blairsville Scottish Festival is taking place in the mountains of Georgia this weekend. I'm thinking about a last minute get away for the family and renting a cabin for the weekend as it's only 2 hours from home. Just wondering, has anyone ever been? If so, how is it? Is anyone planning to attend this year? My wife is not 100% into kilts and I figure this might be a great way to break her into it and let the kids have some fun at them same time. Besides, it's a great opportunity to wear a kilt and be proud!

I'm planning on driving up from Newnan on Saturday, Turpin said that he would be at the Clan Gordon tent, and I believe Matt will be there representing the Scottish Tartans Museum.
Hope to see you there.

I'll be there, looking forward to it! On the down side, our illustrious Matt said he would not be in attendance as the Taste of Scotland in Franklin is the following weekend.
Cheers,
David

The Blairsville games are alot of fun, this will be our third time in attendance. It's a beautiful setting, with alot of nice folks. We've made new friends there and are looking forward to seeing them again. As Turpin has said before, the games are dry, so all alcohol has to be sub-tabula, still a very nice event, and it's usually cooler there than here. Hope to see you there,
David

I'm thinking about coming down on Sunday from TN. Not sure yet, have to see how tired we are after work on Sat. Would need to be an early start on Sunday to get through the Smoky Mtn traffic. Sounds like the Clan Gordon tent is a meeting place. Not sure what time we'll get there if we come.
Since we are from PA, this would be a new adventure for us and we'd certainly like to be there. Just got my first kilt, (Wallace Sport Kilt) in March '09 at the Zepherhills (FL) Celtic Festival. I'm a Wallace on my mother's side. Getting ready to order a Stewart Royal kilt from Rocky. Stewart Royal is the tartan for my Alma Mater, Edinboro (PA) University. And getting excited about ordering the official Clan Claus Society tartan for my third kilt.

Sunday works just as well for me as Saturday, so I'll look forward to seeing everyone then (Sunday, that is).

I'll be there both days. Hope we can get a great turn-out. The Grodons extend hospitality to you all. Even sub-tabula. There are local LEOs who make rounds, so discretion is needed.

1:00 p.m. sounds great for us who are traveling 2 to 3 hours to get there.
