    I need more bagpipe!

While driving my daughters to school today, my girls said something that nearly brought a tear to my eye.
My 6 year old asked, "Daddy, can we hear some more of that bagpipe music?" My 2 year old followed with, "Yeah, more bagpipe!"

    I'm so proud!

    II like the term

"Is that a bagpipe or a highland cow stuck on an electric fence?"

I love the bagpipes too, but those highland pipes are not the most sweet instrument.

They certainly are a luv em or leave em instrument.
I was playing mine yesterday at a church service and made my grandson cry.
He had just woke up and I startled him.

    This part made me go:

    "He understands!"

He had just woke up and I startled him.

My 23-month-old daughter, Molly, and I were talking about musical instruments recently, and I asked her if she wanted to learn to play the trombone like her mom (who has a master's in trombone performance and who was a band director for 10 years...), and Molly emphatically replied "No!"

I asked her what she wanted to learn to play, and she responded enthusiastically with "Pipes!"

Made me proud. (Here she is dancing to the pipe tunes at the San Antonio Highland Games in April...)

That's just what I was thinking.
