Advice on a thrifty from SWK
Hey Gang-
A friend of mine called for advice on a SWK thrifty. Do the sizes run true, tight, or large? Thanks for any input-He's right at the last measurement for a Large-Should he go up to an XL? He's pretty static weight wise. Help appreciated-Josh

My Stillwaters always seem a little on the big side, My custom kilts are 43's, but I wear a 42" SWK Standard or Economy buckled to the tightest hole. The thrifty has velcro, so it might have a little more wiggle room.

My thrifty was on the large side, but the economy is on the tight side. Its a crap shoot...

My sons each have a couple of thrifties, and they do tend to run on the large side. Besides, if he needs to exchange it, sending the old one back and getting the new one takes about 18 minutes, 12 seconds.
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

also
The velcro is hard on the kilt, but a little extra strip would be easy to sew on. Why not fork out the extra 15 dollars and get a economy, its much heavier, looks better, and is sewn down at the hips!

I can't speak to the thrifty, but the guy that turned me on to SWK raves about is SWK Standard Kilt.

The only problem with the economy is the extremely restricted number of tartans. Two.

I'll second that thought. My first kilt as an adult was a Stillwater economy. It's got buckles and straps and sewn down pleats and is a good starter/around the house not a major disaster if you mess it up kilt. Plus, your friend still won't be breaking the bank if he's unsure about wearing the kilt.
