Review of the Casual USA Kilt

I’ve been giving my new casual USA Kilt in the Caledonia tartan, a work out this week. Let me tell, it has passed the tests! It is the perfect kilt for the hot humid summers of the South. I need to start building an inventory of these rascals for summers here in Virginia.

I’ll be leaving for Scotland in two weeks and this kilt will be my designated traveling kilt. When I cross the pond and travel about this is the one. After a hard days wear the wrinkles have easily fallen out over night. I will be most comfortable sitting the hours flying across the Atlantic.

The Caledonia tartan (It predates the 1800s) will be most appropriate to with Dougie MacLean’s song Caledonia being the official song of The Gathering.

You're gonna love flying in your USA Casual kilt.

I wore them commanado flying to and from Hawaii. Wore an X Marks kilt pin since it has the stubby pins. Took the kilt pin off and put it with my gear to go through X Ray before TSA. Put the kilt pin back on aboard the plane. Worked great.

Wore the casual without a belt or sporran. Stayed up just fine. No worries. Gotta love velcro sometimes.

Wore a travel vest in lieu of a sporran so I could slip it off and send it through X Ray. The travel vest carried a lot more than the sporran could of so I had my own in flight snacks, that Ocean nasal spray to keep from drying out in the recycled air on board, etc. Worked great. Didn't have to worry about some TSA newbie deciding the sporran counted as a piece of carry on.

And, thanks for them pics too. Do miss Virginia sometimes.

Eight Weeks is standard unless you pay the "quickie charge", which is substantial. I'm about six weeks into my jones.

I see that you are wearing it with a standard kilt belt.

Does your casual model have the standard belt loops and lower rise?
