One convert and brought one out from the closet
A couple of weeks ago the Mayor of my fine City (Apple Valley, MN) asked if I would volunteer my services and equipment to provide a large sound system for our summer outdoor concert series. I without hesitation said, "I would be honored."
I spent the entire afternoon today setting up four large Klipsh speakers, mics, guitars, drums, keys and of course lots of power. Mind you, I did all of this kilted in my UK Workman.
The first person to show up was from the parks and rec dept and he said from 50 feet away, "A Utilikilt!" He said he always wanted to buy one, but didn't know where he could wear one. Yada, yada, yada I gave him a UK card from my pocket and he now knows about this site. A convert for sure!
Then a young Irish man walked up to me and told me how much he liked my kilt. We chatted about XMTS (which he wrote down on his hand) and then he left. About 30 minutes later he returned in his Irish Tartan with nice Rabbit Sporran. We stood together for quite some time (sorry no photos) while I mixed the show. He now knows he can wear it to more places than just Irish festivals. Brought one out of the closet.

Good job Chub! I wish I had a buck for every "I wish I'd worn my kilt" or "I wish I had one" etc.. I could afford another sporran, or at least some fancy kilt hose!

XMTS Business Cards?
I am considering making an XMTS info card to give away to those who say they are interested in a kilt when they see me in mine. Would that be wrong?
And maybe some icons of XMTS Sponsors in the corners?
Thanks Kett, improvement made for clarity.

Just a thought -
For someone who is not familiar with the site, I think they would try to go to "marksthescot.com" leaving the X off since it does not appear to be a part of the website name.
I know better...but an Xmarks virgin may not.
Otherwise an oustanding idea!

A while back, there was a thread about interest in an Xmarksthescot business card, or more correctly, information card.
http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/x...=business+card
I think the conclusion was: make one if you'd like, but there are no administrative plans for an 'official' card.
