A wee bit of humor!
Several years ago, I was privileged to visit Scotland for a few days as a part of a "package" tour. On one memorable occasion, the group, about thirty of us, were in a bus going from Edinburgh to Stirling Castle. As we started off that morning, our tour guide, who resembled a tall, skinny, red-haired Daniel Radcliffe introduced himself. Like many in his profession he broke the ice with a joke: (Please forgive the lousy Scottish Accent...I type with a southern drawl)
One day, back a' tha beginnin', God was showin' the world to the Archangels, pointin' out the clever bits. When He gets to this bit, He says "I'm callin' this part Scotland. You'll notice the dramatic coastline up here." And Uriel says to Him "Aye, Lord, that's a bonny bit. Very picturesque." And the Lord pointed out the highlands with their craggy tops and quiet lochs, and Raphael said "'Tis Beautiful, Lord!" Then He said "And tha folk here...I'm going to give 'em tha secret of whisky, to warm tha cold nights." Then Gabriel got a bit concerned "Aren't ye bein' just a wee bit too generous, Lord?" To which Himself replied "Not really.....you haven't seen their neighbors yet."
'A damned ill-conditioned sort of an ape. It had a can of ale at every pot-house on the road, and is reeling drunk. "
