Buttons are impossible to find!!!!!
I recently had an old thrift store blazer converted to a PC (By a tailor). I love the jacket, it fits perfectly, and hangs like a kilt jacket. However, She didn't have buttons....
Now I thought, so what? I can find buttons somewhere, right? Wrong! Finding sliver square buttons is near impossible where I live, and we don't have money to spare on ordering them online.
However, the jacket just doesn't look quite right without the buttons. I really almost bothers me. So, I may have to breakdown and go for the internet here.
So, my question is this. Since we're getting them off the internet anyway, we may as well get some good ones. I'm looking for for the best quality buttons at the lowest price. If anybody can point me in the right direction, that'd be great!

Here's silver and chrome buttons:
Highland X Press
Scottish Jewelry at The Harp and Dragon
Here are some pewter buttons:
Celtic buttons from Three Feathers Pewter
There are square or diamond shape buttons at all of those. There's nothing wrong with round buttons, or any number of other shapes, though.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

We can supply buttons for Prince Charlies from Lochcarron for $2.20 each. These are the same buttons as are used on their own jackets, so the quality is good. They are not on our web site, so you'll either need to call to place the order or email us and I can send a PayPal invoice on line. There are two sizes, large and small. We don't typically stock them, so allow time for delivery.

There's a ton on there and they're pretty cheap. My friend replaced all his buttons with gold-plated ones for less than £5

I've used the buttons from Three Feathers Pewter. They cost $5.00 (USD) for a card of 6 buttons. (Approx. $0.83 per button.)

I use these pewter rounded diamond buttons on my highland dance vest. They look great and are sufficiently different from everyone else. Highland Island also has square and round pewter buttons. The price is very good.

I love these folks. Not sure if any of the square or diamond-shaped buttons they have are dressy enough for your taste, though.

I can recommend Highland Xpress. They're easy to work with, ship quickly, and a pleasure to talk to.
Those ebay buttons look like pretty good deals, too.
