Race Judicata 2009 Chicago Kilted Run
Well, this past Thursday was the Race Judicata, a 5K run put on as a fundraiser for Chicago Volunteer Legal Services which is an organization that provides legal services for the indigent. My law firm entered a team and I had all of the runners wear kilts and t-shirts that said, "Kilted Justice" Here are some pics.
My father and I before the race:
Here are my parents on the way to the race. My father does not approve of the kilt, and I was surprised he wore one out in public. He was a good sport about it:
Here we are, warming up by standing around talking to each other (except my father who is an actual runner):
The one on the left is a fireman who just got back from Scotland and has a kilt of his own, but he borrowed my thrifty USMC to run in. It turns out his kilt is a Gold Brothers 13 oz., pretty much the same kilt I ran in (FC 13oz.) but I didn't have the heart to burst his bubble:
Here is the whole Felker & Reganti Kilted Justice team (minus my girlfriend who was taking the picture):
A triumphant team after the race, which ended up being a 6K due to a mistake in measuring the course:
Although we looked triumphant, few of us were serious runners, so all the fresh air and exercise made us feel like dying:
Our shirt didn't win the t-shirt competition, but it was pretty popular, as were the kilts. I ended up giving out all the extra shirts I made, and, of course, numerous business cards:

For a man who doesn't approve of kilts, your father looks very at home in one!

Kilted lawyers, Brilliant!
Excellent pics.
I often wore a black kilt to court until I retired from the law last year.

Were you raising money for a cause, or was this just a fun race? Your team looks great, and tell dad he looks right at home in the kilt.

It was for Chicago Volunteer Legal Services. They do the run every year to raise money for their organization.

Good work, good cause, good pics! Thanks for sharing!
