Black Stewart tartan

Hi all, I am concidering buying a Black Stewart kilt from stillwater. BUT...I'd like to know what kind of traditions or "bagage" comes with this tartan. yes I know it is open and anyone can use it. still thare ore those who will want to know what conection YOU have to the tartan you are wareing. just what is one saying by wareing Black Stewrt?
