How to put a photo into your posts
Here on X Marks we have a saying - If there are no photos, it didn't happen.
But many people seem to have trouble figuring out how to put a photo into their posts. This pictorial tutorial was originally prepared many years ago and due to some recent changes it has been updated.
Until very recently the software package that X Marks uses did not allow you to upload photos from your home compute and have those photos stored on the forum database.
Now we can but posting a photo to your posts using this method is not the preferred method. It adds a huge amount of bandwidth usage and slows the forum down and it could - possibly - allow a hacker to follow the upload path back to your home computer.
The preferred method is to upload your photos to one of the on-line photo hosting sites such as flick, imageshack or postimag.
There was a change to one of the photo hosting sites recently which negatively impacted this forum. The photo hosting site photobucket was for years, a free service. They recently began to charge to link your photos to a third site like X Marks. If you do not pay the fee all your photo links are broken and a stock image from photobucket replaces your photo.
This caused many member to change their photo hosting site.
This tutorial is going to use postimag.cc as an example only.

In a democracy it's your vote that counts; in feudalism, it's your Count that votes.
