Mystery Kilt
Hey there everyone! I'm new to the board, and kilts.
I'm writing this post because I found a kilt, Made in Scotland, at a by-the-pound thrift store. I bought it, but I can't find anything about the brand online! This is the label:
Tweeds & Tartans
Border Kilts
Made in Scotland
100% Wool
It has two belt-like fasteners on each side that do not extend into the back or front of the waist. I can post a picture to show the pattern and colors, too.
Has anyone heard of this brand?

from Chicago. Yes, please post pictures. I'm sure someone will be able to identify it. You need to use Photobucket or similar service and then use the IMG option to paste pictures in a post here.

Looks like you may have something there, and welcome from Dickson, Tennessee!

pics are needed, not only does it help narrow down the tartan, it makes sure you didn't grab a woman's skirt.

Good point, Sathor! My guess is no at this point, based on how it is wrapped, but we'll see!

KiltUnKnown
If the apron closes left over right and you have two "belt like straps" on the right side and a third on the left (maybe on the inside) that passes through a hole in the fabric, you have a kilt. If the aprons close right over left The straps are used to adjust the top of the kilt. The interfacing of the kilt act like the rest of the "belt."
An apron that folds right over left and the strap that passes through a hole in the kilt is on the right side you have a woman's skirt. With pictures someone can identify the tartan and give you more information.
