Scots of the West Valley had their November meeting last night. And I was in attendance. People gathered for pre prans around five with dinner at 6 and entertainment from 7-8:30. Dinner was a precurser of Thanksgiving to come (or ham for those that wanted.) Very nicely served by the Country Club staff as always.

Entertainment was music presented by three members of Klezmer Group known as the Chai(pronounced "high") Tones. The instrument were the hammered dulcimer, recorder and Irish Bozouki (sp?) Most of the music was Celtic- Scottish and Irish with a few Klezmer tunes tossed in. Both Fun and enjoyable. I had the honor of dining with the musicians- whose day jobs are attorney, graphic design artist and retired nuclear physicist. But the conversation was mostly about Dachsunds!

Tartans were ubiquitous though more among the women than men. I counted 6 kilts, some tartan ties and one Black Watch dress coat.

I am remiss in not posting pictures.

But happy that I won a bottle of Cabernet-Sauvignon in the raffle.

Meanwhile, next dinner is December 17th. $21.50 per person. I'll post more when I get the specific information.

I want people who are interested to know that the Annulal Burns Supper is January 22nd and the cost will likely be $30 per person. The evening is a lot of fun, and last year a few of us met over at Lis Doon Varnaafterward for a nightcap.

Slainte,
