WACKO Burns Night SEATTLE
Washington Area Community Kilt Organization
Ok WACKO’S, it’s official, back by popular demand. The 2nd annual Burns night celebration on will be held Saturday, January 23th, 2010. The cost for this event is estimated to be $20 per person depending on the number of people. Again it will be a Pot Luck style dinner & BYOB. Your admission price includes the cost of the hall, the pipers and the haggis. We have secured a very nice facility for this year’s event.
• Dress is Scottish Formal or Dressy (Just try to look your best, but know that we would rather have you there than worry about if you have a formal outfit or not)
Join us for the 251th anniversary of his birthday. Robert Burns (25 January 1759 – 21 July 1796) also known as Rabbie Burns, Scotland's favorite son, the Ploughman Poet, the Bard of Ayrshire and in Scotland as simply The Bard. He is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland and is celebrated worldwide. One website recorded Over 3,600 Burns Night suppers from over 80 different countries worldwide were held in 2009.
• Reservations & Money must be received before December 31, 2009. To keep the event relaxed and informal we will be limiting attendance to the first 60 people who sign up

Our Burns night was held this year at the lovely Duwamish Tribal Longhouse in Seattle. About 50 people attended
here is the Tribal chairman Cecil Hansen welcoming us to the facility
our event was a potluck event and very wonderfull food and whisky

This year we had some guest from Isreal experience haggis and Robbie Burns for the first time.

It is near West Seattle, it is in the port area on the Duwamish river. Brian that high rise over pass you take to West Seattle, it is to the left before crossing over the hill.
