Finally! Picts! Pix?
Y'all remember the Kilt Night to End All Kilt Nights, right?
That was a special night for me, too. I arrived at the Wizard's shop to purchase a sporran, only to have a Tartan Model in Maple Leaf presented to me personally by Steve. It was so fresh it still had steam rising from the pleats! It may have been smoke. I suspect he was running his sewing machine in overdrive to get it done to surprise me, which it certainly did.
I managed to keep my cool and buy the sporran I wanted, along with some hangers...

RB51 and BruceBC kibbitzing while I buy my sporran. I think they gave in and purchased the ones they're holding, too. Just out of the frame you can't see Steve rolling in a pile of all the money that was being thrown at him.
I didn't put it on immediately because I was already kilted, but before dinner at the Harbour House I changed. Big Mikey's wife Shelly kindly used Dougald's camera to capture a couple of shots of Dougald, BruceBC and I all proudly wearing our Maple Leaf kilts -- and all three pleated differently unless my eye deceives me.
The front (Dougald, BruceBC, Old Hippie)

The pleat shot:

I'll save some kind soul the trouble of blowing a vein over my western buckle and my 1 3/4" belt. Up until now (Kilt #4) I've not needed a 3" belt. I've got the leather to make one, need only to buy a nice buckle for it. I'll have to make a sporran belt to go along with it, as I found that the weight of the sporran on the kilt belt tends to pull the belt down in front.
That's not a huge deal, because of course the Wizard put pockets in my kilt.
I've not had the opportunity to kilt up as often lately -- but I've had it out on the town a couple of times. As the owner of two canvas kilts and one in poly-cotton, I can say that wool is qualitatively and quantitatively vastly different. I have much more swing goin' on.
I have been intending to get this up for a while, but various things got in the way. My apologies. (My apologies too if I got Dougald and BruceBC mixed up!)
Another kilt de force for Steve, with thanks to him and to the ladies in the shop. Certainly it's not the last one he'll make for me, I hope. Like many in here, I've found my kiltmaker.

Well, I like the belt and buckle - they match in nicely with the earth tones. Great pics, pix and picts, thanks for posting.
