SE Wisconsin Road Trip for Chicago area Xmarkers?
My nephew James (Seamus) and I are joining a few kilted folk from SE Wisconsin for a kilt night at the Burlington Brewing Company in Burlington, Wisconsin, this Saturday evening starting at 7:30 pm.
It's about 1 1/2 to 2 hours from Chicago. Anybody interested?

Wow... I just checked out their website and it looks like its Octoberfest all year round at this joint!

...if we come, do we have to bring our own stout?

Awesome idea! I will invite my beer drinking kilt wearing buddies.
Sadly, that is a club brew day, and it is my beer this time. I kind of have to be there. That is an all day event. I live North of Milwaukee. It maybe be after 8 or almost 9 even before I get there. And, we have a HOG meeting the next morning, so I don't want be out too late ... however, I have not been to this pub before, so I have incentive to do so. No promises, but let's say there is about a 75% chance I will be there.

I don't know, John, this will be my first time there. I'm looking on it as an adventure.

Would love to see you and your friends. I'm guessing Seamus and I will be there from about 7:30 to 11ish so come when you can. One Chicago area kilt wearer and his wife are planning to show up about 6:30 and have dinner first. I think Beloitpiper might come too.
Is HOG House of Gordon? My brother, Turpin, is convener of the House of Gordon for Georgia (or as he calls himself, Boss H.O.G.)

Not House of Gordon, sorry. Harley Owners Group, Suburban Chapter monthly meeting. Not a must attend thing. But it is a good group of people to be with once a month or more.
I am brewing an oatmeal stout that morning. It won't be fermented by 8 PM though! How about a Wee Heavy Scotch Ale? Not sure if the place would appreciate people bringing their own stuff in. Some places do, others do not.
Gonna be a drinking week I guess. Tonight is Milwaukee Beer Barons (home brewing and beer enthusiasts) board meeting at Benno's. I am the 2010 Sgt @ Arms (they waited until I was drinking heavily to ask me to run), so I am expected to be there. Tomorrow is Trubmeisters (a beer club north of Milwaukee) at Silver Creek in Cedarburg. I guess I will have Friday to rest my liver! Then making and drinking Saturday most of the day.

Thought I would let you know that it's down to a 10% chance now. :-( I haven't given up, but unlikely I will make it there tomorrow.
