    Tilted Kilt in Grapevine?

Has anyone been out there? It apparently opened i guess last month... wondering if it's worth trekking out there for.

I had a few pints at the original Tilted Kilt at the Las Vegas Rio Hotel/Casino (it is no longer open). If you like a Hooters atmosphere with the addition of tartan, then it is something you should try.

It looks like it's open... we were in that area a few nights ago and saw it. Hubby and I won't be going, though.

We eat a vegan diet and really don't care for the "scenery" of places like that ;)

I've only been in two TK's, in Round Rock TX, and the one here in Houston. Compairing them to a hooters is doing them a dis-service IMO! Just to be clear, please do not get the idea that dining at the Kilt is any kind of "traditional 'Celtic' experience"! But the TK food is good, as is the drink selection, staff friendly, and kilted guys are always welcomed and fawned over. I'm kind of a regular, and I think I have been comped a drink or given free junk on at least half my visits. They have hosted several events for local Celtic groups, and even participated in our Highland games last year.

The "Look! Our waitresses are hot!" gimmick is great to get you in the door, look how long Hooters has been at it, but the quality of the food, drinks and fast friendly service is what brings folks back. In that area at least I'm pleased with our local Tilted Kilt. Lets face it, it's surrounded by plenty of other "reasonably priced dining" places, but since I'm not troubled by having my grub brought over by a pretty girl in a mini-skirt, I'll generally choose the Kilt over Chili's!

Zardoz, I wasn't trying to put TK down by comparing them to Hooters. It's just the first similarity that came to mind. I actually like the TK atmosphere. The nearest one to me is about an hour and a half away. I've only been twice, and never tired the food. I might have to take a road-trip this weekend!

The Blarney Stone?! Did that open back up? Might be a different establishment altogether, though... there used to be one down on Lower Greenville in Dallas...

As for the trek, it'd be a ways. I live around downtown Dallas. I probably wouldn't head out that way just for that, but if I were in the area, y'know.

Been wanting to go the the Outlet for a couple weeks now. Maybe able to talk the wife into stopping there. She normally doesn't hold well with places that use cup size as a criteria but she was impressed by the menu.
