The Mc"Clans" are In Danger
I am not given to protest many things but this has me in a dither verging on rage. Please read this article and join me in a boycott of McDonald's. This is just plain corporate bullying!

That is just McSilly... It is for charity for crying out loud! I don't see how she is infringing on their trademark when it goes along with her last name... Maybe if she was selling hamburgers, but who knew that "Mc" had a copyright?!?

I don't really need a reason not to eat at MickyD's! But I hope they feel the impact of this corporate McBS!

McDonalds are a particularly litigious organisation. They may even be following this thread! Patronising them or not will be no problem for me, however, as I have never darkened their door and never intend to either.

One has to wonder who on earth ever allowed McDonalds to trademark the Mc prefix in the first place!
Regional Director for Scotland for Clan Cunningham International, and a Scottish Armiger.

They should go sue MC Hammer...
Anyway, from my personal standpoint, I've NEVER seen a boycott like this work. Ever. They cannot work because they will never have enough people all boycotting at the same time (and sticking to it) to make a difference. Letters and petitions on the other hand, may have an impact.
A boycott will only ever inconvenience YOU, the consumer. It's like my friend who is boycotting poultry because of the industry's treatment of chickens. I told my friend that unless he tells the chicken farmers he's boycotting them, they won't ever know.
Perhaps if the rabble were willing to send some politely-worded letters to some McClan chiefs, urging THEM as McClan chiefs to write some sharply-worded letters to selected members of McDonald's senior management, that'll probably amount to more than boycotting cheeseburgers until Lord-knows-when...

I've boycotted McDonalds for a couple of years... I also boycott a whole load of other companies due to their forgein policy. After all - when a company is in the tens of billions of revenue, they often have even more power in the world than countries themselves.
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.
