Emergency...Need jacket for next Saturday
OK Rabble...I'm popping the emergency flair!!! Just found out today that my wife and I will be attending a Valentine's Day dinner-dance next Saturday night. I can't think of anything better to wear then my kilt, but I don't have any kilt jackets. So I'm wondering who out there can help me with my problem this week.
I'm about a 43R Jacket with arms on the longer side (ape arms, as my wife might refer to them) and an athletic build (33" waist). I could probably wear a 44R, 43 Reg or Long, possibly a 42L, depending on the cut and sleeve length.
I'm looking to buy for the right price (don't want to spend over $150 if possible), Rent (Matt, Rocky or other....anybody have rentals?), or borrow. I live in upstate NY. Feel free to offer advice on this thread or PM me direct if you can help.
Thanks in advance!!!!

We rent Prince Charlie jackets:
http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/rent.html
But I also have one for sale that might be the right size for you. It's a gently used PC jacket that we have in on consignment. Actually a pretty well made jacket. I'm not sure but I think it's a 40 or 42, not sure about sleeve length. And I'm pretty sure it's priced around $150.
I can double check all that Monday morning when we open up again, if you are interested just give us a call.

Thanks Matt...if you could confirm the size of the consignment jacket on monday, I'd appreciate it...I definitely can't wear a 40R...might be able to get away with a 42...especially if I could let it out in the back seam a little in the future. I'll keep the rental offer in mind also.

If you take a 42 in US sized jackets, you probably will need to move up 1 size for one made in the UK.

Seems like a nice sweater would be more comfy to dance in...is it so formal you feel like you need a kilt jacket?

I have to check with my dad (who we are going with)....I am pretty sure he wears his tux to this thing...but others may be "less dressed".
Sammac...thanks for the advice. I had never heard that/wasn't aware.
By the way, I found this last night: http://www.atlantakilts.com/Individu...R%20Jacket.htm . Anybody have any experience with renting or buying one of these?

You can also rent a PC in a variety of sizes from Scottishlion.com for $40US plus s/h for a few days, and have it by the end of the week for about $10-12 in s/h.

The jacket we have on consignment here is a 40L and comes with a waistcoat for $125. So the price is right, but I'm afraid the size is too small for your needs. But if anyone else wants to take advantage of it, please let us know!

It sounds like you measure quite close to the same as me, and I've tried on the below jacket, I believe:

It was a bit on the snug side in the shoulder, but wearable. A very nice jacket.
