Utility Kilt with Hikers Clasp Closures

I have developed a new style of a sportier utility kilt....with hikers clasps for closures.




The intention is to #1 make the kilt adjustable. With these adjustable straps, the kilt can fit not only 1 size, but at least 2-4 sizes up or down. #2 This way you can buy, sell, and trade a Kilt This! kilt with someone that has nearly the same size as you but it doesn't have to be exact. I just noticed that when people try to resell their kilts, they have to search for that person that is willing to take a gamble on size. This way, you have more options to buy, sell or trade.

Hmmm, is the really a 'Do It Yourself' project?

Can I get patterns or instructions so that I can 'do it myself'?

Really, there's no pattern. I'm sure you can add hikers clasps to just about anything. If you have kilts that you've outgrown or that might have shrunk, you can probably add straps and clasps to adjust the way it fits you. It's risky, but in the end would you rather have a kilt that's too small or one that you can make fit? It's really how you look at it. If you have a kilt you want to try this on, you just lay it out and take a look at where you can put the clasps. For wrap arounds, I'm sure you would probably only need 1 row of straps and clasps. I'm thinking that for more traditional style tartans, metal clasps would match well.

Yes, we've been bombarded with orders but we are taking on our first employee in March so the time will be cut down very soon. It's not actually 4 months to wait but if you tell people 3 months, they want it done in 1 month and if you tell them 2 months they'll send you emails daily asking for their status, so at 4 months people will know they have to wait and that anticipation isn't a bad thing It also allows us to take a day/night off where we don't sew and do other things. Cris is a full-time art design student and I work full time at a law school, so we only really have the evenings and weekends to sew, and we spend 6 out of 7 nights a week sewing to complete orders. One day out of the week we have to go shopping for supplies. There's only 2 of us right now, but soon, we will be hiring more people to help.

Hey Ms Laws, I've been unable to pull up your prices etc from the website since it for some reason invokes the netnanny software where I am. I guess that I should add that I AM an adult and have been for quite some time

Anyway, is there any way you can send me that info via this site? I will be able to access it sometime, but am nervous about the message saying prices are going up on Monday....
