First time wearing the kilt to work
I've hesitated wearing the kilt to work before. Don't think it would work out to well in the Emergency Department (Casualty Ward to my British friends) where I am primarily, but I do work a few days per month with Community Mental Health in an office setting. In honor of St. Paddy's Day I decided to show up kilted today in our Cheboygan office. It has not provided near the distraction to the clients that I was concerned it would. Lots of nice comments, too! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Community mental health? You'll fit right in around here! Congratulations on your first kilted office experience - may you have many more to come!

Looks like it was such a success that everyone wanted to be in the picture with you.

Good for you. Just curious, why did you choose St.Patrick's day for your first kilted appearance rather than (for example St.Andrew's). Not that I prefer one to the other.

I wasn't working in an office on St. Andrew's Day. If I recall, I was on a string of night shifts in the ER and honestly, scrubs are the only thing that make sense to me to wear there. I did change into my kilt at the hospital at the end of my shift, as I played my pipes at a church service the Sunday morning celebrating St. Andrew's Day.

I've been wearing mine to work for two weeks now. I work for a book publisher and have 0 dealings with customers outside email.
When I started they had me working all over the play, sometimes in shipping sometimes in the print shop, but the past month I've only been at my desk. 2nd day in my kilt and they needed me to drive the forklift as everyone else in the office that could had a broken foot.

Congratulations on your first. Some folks like Phil and I can't go anywhere without wearing a kilt and not get comments about why we're not wearing a kilt.
