doublet on Kijiji Toronto
FYI someone has what appears to be a regulation doublet (they call it a prince charlie) on Kijiji online classifieds in Toronto. $140, size 40. Not sure if it's still available but thought I'd share just in case!

Thanks for the heads up. Don't know if logistics will work and not certain it will fit me, but worth pursuing. Regulation doublets are few and far between on the secondary market and this is a good price for decent condition.
I am interested in knowing if anyone has bought a used RD recently or is aware of any other source for them. ( other than new)

MacLl, I ran across a company called "Replicators," which have rock bottom prices and even do some custom work. I can't vouch for them, as I've never purchased from them but here's the link:

replicators? Regulation doublets?
Thanks for the link. A quick search on the forum does not bode well, but maybe things have improved. I would like to have a Regulation, but spent the last of my doublet budget on my spectacular Red PC from Josh at Skye, more on that later.
I think we can agree the PC is not inherently bad, its only drawback seems to be its ubiquity. But familiarity has bred contempt, or at least ambivalence, and I think most hard core THD posters here would recommend a little sartorial individualism over the Little Coatee That Succeeded Too Well. As I say, there is nothing inherently bad about the design- it accommodates expansion, it connotes the Highlands and denotes formality, it is the Late Model Sedan of Scots Formalwear.
And, I guess, that means the Regulation is the Coachbuilt Saloon these days, or have I stretched the poor metaphor beyond its limit?

A red PC is certainly one way to avoid the cookie cutter look! Are there pics?
As for the car analogies, they seem accurate and neither comparison is negative if you like vintage and classic automobiles. That being said, old becomes new when clothing takes a retro turn, so perhaps it is only a matter of time before the regulation doublet becomes a PT Cruiser
