    At the STM...

As per Matt's request, this is now on the web. I took a trip up to Franklin last weekend and stopped by the Scottish Tartans Museum.

Lamar Britt, left, is showing off his new kilt in the Rose colored Ferguson Britt tartan.

Matt is proud of his creation as well, and only looks like he's flicking off the camera..

I was left without a prop, but managed to have a good time anyway.

The sporrans alone account for a small fortune.

    Nice photo.

Where they're standing is right in front of the cash register. Hmmm....

That's a pretty combination of colors in that new kilt. I wish we could the front of it.

Love the belts and the bonnets. Are the bonnets availble through the gift shop?

Good for you getting there to STM. I live too far away but if I go near it I will stop in. I imagine it a great place.

That is a really great photograph of all 3 of you. Of course I do like the sporrans; however, Matt- that buckle of yours is just outstanding. A neighbor saw your buckle and wants one, and I have decided that I am going to make one for myself. Wish I had been there to see you guys......

They will be very soon. Ryan actually knit all three bonnets you see in that photo. He's been working very hard on researching and recreating historic knit bonnets, and one of the reasons for his visit last week was to talk with me about offering them through the museum's gift shop. After examining the bonnets, I can honestly say that I was very pleased with the quality and I really think these are a very nice product.

Ryan is knitting some for us currently in various colors to be able to photograph and get up on our web site. He can fill in more details but we should be able to offer these in shades of blue, red, green, black, and perhaps brown and grey. They are 100% wool, hand knit, and hand felted.

We should be able to retail these in the $80 range. I'll make an announcement on the forum when they are available, so stay tuned!

One other thing I noticed about this photo. Not only did Ryan (right) knit all the bonnets we are wearing, but Lamar Britt (left) made all the sporrans, and I (center) made all the kilts, including the one I'm handing off to Lamar. I don't think that fact even occurred to me at the time we took the photo!
