Tech Goodness! AKA My IPAD is here!

Finally had my ipad delivered. One of the wallpapers included is a very nice looking tartan.

Gratz. Alas, it'll be a long, long time before I get any new gadget, much less an iPad. Ever since I built my latest desktop PC, I unhackintoshed it and installed Windows 7. Much to my own surprise, I really, really like it. Not so much that I would replace my MacBook and my Mac Mini (they will both have their place) but the Win7 box is very pleasant to use.

I suspect, therefore, that I'm going to wait (not only until my wife has a job and we're back to having more than 1/2 our household income) but until some of the Win7 tablet devices start hitting the market... I'm keenly looking forward to seeing the HP Slate.

P.S. Are you alright with the iPad's inability to multitask? I'm not a big fan of the OS on the iPad or the iPhone.

I'm very satisfied. The ipad meets my needs better than my touch which replaced my ibook at the university. It all depends on what ones needs are.

If I am not mistaken that tartan is the Blackwatch or Campbell Ancient.

I am planning to get my wife one of the 3G versions when they become available in late April. I can only hope she will find time to use it with all the necessary "testing" I will have to do

I am not worried about the lack of multitasking as that will more than likely come in late June with version 4 of the OS.

I learned on TUAW today that the good folks over at Blendtec have already determined whether or not the iPad will blend. I won't spoil the video for you but it IS quality.
