I received my new Mackie Balmoral!!!
Greetings all,
I just received my new Robert Mackie Balmoral, ordered from Chris (Redshanks) at Dunadd Trading Company. The Balmoral's body is fawn, with a matching fawn toorie, and has lovat green/fawn dicing on the headband-just like Jock Scot's, only the crown, or top portion of the Balmoral is the standard size and not smaller, as in Jock's bespoke version.
The ribbons came tied in a superb, most perfect knot (I have already stitched them into place), and all I have to do now is follow Jock's wonderful tutorial/advice, and "break" the bonnet in properly. I plan to wear it this Saturday for a local Tartan Day celebration, and I shall post photos early next week. I highly recommend Dunadd Trading Company, especially if one is interested in high-quality Balmoral's from Robert Mackie, Scotland, as well as brilliantly made hose from The House of Cheviot. Thank you Chris!!!

Great, Kyle! How about a before picture so we can understand the transition once it's had a good "jocking."
I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine!

Can't wait to see the pix. I'd like to see the size of a regular top in the Fawn/Lovat Green as I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on one myself.

Yes, I just rec'd my "Jock Scot" model as well, and it is drying on my head as I type this after two extended dunkings. I don't have a nice clean burn handy, so a 5-gallon bucket in the utility sink had to do.
Mackie surely do make a bullet-proof bonnet!
