    I'm sorry...

... that my thread in the For swap section has caused trouble.
It was not my intent, but upon reflection I realise that I should've been clearer. I did not mean do to anything illegal. I admit I am not a cigar expert, but I honestly thought that not every cuban cigars were easilly available.

Again, I am sorry if I offended anyone.

    Regards

I see no need for apology. I did want to point out that what you were offering, although innocent, is against the laws of a foreign country (the USA). It's fortunate that there were no takers as it could be serious consequences for both you (the shipper) and the recipient. It's easily possible that you are not aware of the laws of another country, I only know from dealing with truckers. They relate the story of one Canadian trucker with a box of Cuban cigars nabbed at the border faced with confiscation of his truck, his company's trailer (he was hauling) and a $50,000 fine.

As the topic turned to a discussion of cigars themselves, I don't think people were offended, myself, I was shocked but not offended. For me with, any one of my American friends want a cigar, I'll gladly go down to the local tobaconist and buy the best available and glady give it to them when they touch Canadian Soil (snow, muskeg, permafrost). I'm sure that McMurdo will also allow them to stroke his seal skin sporran (after he takes it off, of course).

I'm sure once Castro finally kicks off, they'll be perfectly legal . Til then, I'll take you up on that offer of a cigar across the border! ...I'm willing to bring a nice scotch .

It was King Umberto of Italy who famously said, "I can refuse no gentleman a cigar or the Order of the Crown of Italy." How could anyone be offended when your generosity of spirit matches that of a king?

Light 'em up men. Smoke 'em if you've got 'em.
