    FINALLY! **happy dance**

After four years of trying, I finally did it....got 30 feet in the Open Stone.

I went 29' 10" last season...ARRRGH. But Saturday at Tartan Day, I got it. The tape pulled at 30 feet... not thirty feet and half an inch, **Thirty Feet**.

    I'll take it!

The great thing is that we were throwing in a sand volleyball court, not the greatest, eh? There's more where THAT came from! Two weeks to Woodland.

Yeah it just takes a long time to get there! LOL

All those dumbell snatches and sumo dead lift high pulls have paid off, too. I popped "The Cardinal" caber over twice on Saturday. I've only turned it twice, ever before out of Lord Knows How Many Attempts. Cardinal is a totally dead (no taper, it's dimensional lumber) 15 foot 75-80 pounder painted in appropriate colors.

    Next up?

    13 BLOODY FEET in WOB. I'm sick of throwing 12' 11 1/2"

Ventura is on the "very likely" list at this point, since the Ben Lomond games have been moved to June.

That's tough... I can only do one "out-of-town" Games this year, meaning a Games I fly to. I can drive to Ventura (will probably drive down with a friend) and I'll probably be at Costa Mesa because I can stay with family.... but I had to pick between Denver and the Enumclaw Games in Washington.

I looked over who was coming to the Masters Worlds and it's very clear that I'll be throwing for last place. The current list has me and two other guys (one of whom I know) who will be battling it out at the complete bottom of the heap. I mean, most of the guys who are coming are so much better than I am that it's laughable. That's OK, it's not like I "resent that" or something, but it was a factor in the decision.

Team that up with the fact that my wonderful friend Kathy, who lives in Washington, has just been diagnosed with stage four colon cancer, and I decided that I would go to Washington to throw and to see her. I had to pick...Denver or Enumclaw, and Enumclaw won out.

HOWEVER..it **Looks** like, hopefully, I will be going to Scotland for the Worlds in 2011. I'll still get blown out by the competition, but at least it will be in Scotland.
