Pipes came in today!
The title is pretty self-explanatory, but somewhat lacking.
I mentioned in this thread that I was looking for a set of pipes, and later ordered. Well, it took a little over a month, but they're here! McCallum AB1 Deluxe model. Simple, no ivory, but beauties.
Of course, I had to try and see what I could do right away, which wasn't much. So thankful I have practice tomorrow night, otherwise I wouldn't know what to do with myself for any longer than that!
So, happy to join the ranks of bagpipe-owners. Hopefully, without too much delay, I'll be able to become a bagpipe-player. Looking forward to it.

You say "Pipes came in today".
I say "Not without pictures".
You know the rules!

Congratulations Chasem on the pipes. Have fun wrestling the octopus and sounding as though you are fighting with Chewbacca all in one breath. You will be up to speed in no time especially if you practice with them everyday.

I'll tell you what I advise, run it past your PM before doing it behind his back.
Play your chanter with the drones corked every day for a week.
Uncork one tenor for a week.
Uncork both tenors for a week.
Re-cork the tenors and uncork the bass for a week.
Remove all corks.
Also, don't be afraid to ask for an extremely weak, worn out, shot, past it, has been, reed to start with. Stamina will build fairly quickly, but not if you're skipping daily practice because the chanter reed is too blasted hard.
I'm sure the PM will want you to play a medium reed due to stability issue, but cut your teeth on a weak reed just to get going.
Oh, by the way: Congrats on the new pipes!
I wish I believed in reincarnation. Where's Charles Martel when you need him?

Congrats on the new pipes . . . assuming that you reall do have new pipes.
We haven't seen any new pipes around here. . . . I'm just sayin'.
