Dear Mom,
Unknowingly you taught me so much I would need to know in the future.
Thank you for showing me how to gracefully sit down, get in a car, ride a bike and so so many other ordinary tasks while you wore a mid-length skirt with pleats.
Thank you for showing me how to take care of a fine black leather bag with long strap in which you seemed to be able to carry anything ever needed.
Thank you for making me take the time to shine my shoes before going to church.
Thank you for showing me how you carefully washed your hose and laid them flat to dry on a towel in the laundry room.
Thank you for keeping your garters in great shape and wearing them proudly.
Thank you for teaching me to iron and hang my shirts and how to take care of a vest and jacket.
Thank you for your gift of heritage and ancestry that allowed me to proudly walk in the streets representing our family.
Thank you for teaching how to respect women and to not take them for granted.
This kilt is for your Mom! Happy Mother's Day!
Love,
Your Son.
A proud Great-Great Grandson of the Clan MacLellan from Kirkcudbright.
