Hi from Quebec!
Hello,
I'm new here, and I live in Quebec, Canada. I'm 20.
I have a few questions about buying a new kilt so here I come to ask you, experts! haha
I have a kilt made by my girlfriend that I wear sometimes, and I'm planning to buy a better one.
I saw those Kiltmart kilts 16oz heavy kilts, they seem interesting for the price, do you have an idea about those?
I saw the SWK ones too, seem great too, but the Standard ones seem a bit lightweight...
so let me know what you think
and Hi again

Save save save.......scrounge through the couch cushions and find extra change, dive under the registers at the super market to get more... and swear off coffee till you have $100 saved up to buy a custom casual from Rocky@USA Kilts....basically.DONT DO WHAT I DID AND BUY A CHEAP ONE.....it's a waste of the money IMHO....
and Welcome to the Forum!!!

Welcome from near Atlanta.
I always advise saving your money until you can afford a good, well-made kilt from a good kilt maker. There are several around here. It's worth the wait, and a kilt like that will outlast you, even at the tender age of 20. ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
But, if you really want the SWK right now, I can tell you that the "heavy wool" is OK. It's not really so heavy, more like a medium weight, but it'll do. For the money, it's hard to beat.
I would not recommend the standard unless you are planning to wear for some outdoor activity that would damage a wool kilt. Something like mud wrestling or wood cutting comes to mind. I have a standard as well in Leatherneck that I've never worn. (There's a story there, but it'll wait.)
So, I do have experience, but I recommend a good custom kilt.
Good luck. We require photos of all new kilts. It's a rule!

Welcome. My paternal grandfather was born in Quebec. People always assume he was French when I tell them that, but he was all Scot.
