    Alt.Kilt in Obvious Magazine

One of our sponsors got quite a nice spread in Obvious Magazine. Never heard of this publication but they dressed and interviewed model Derrick Smith.

Hmmm. Maybe I should go get a furry "Mad Bomber" hat. It could be the winter counterpart to my Navy issue "I-didn't-sign-for-it-so-I-never-returned-it" white chocolate chip desert camo boonie hat.

As a friend in San Diego used to say..."Dog, that is piiiiiimp!" Whatever that means.

I have a black fur Ushanka that I wear when the temps drop in December/January around here (keeps my ol' noggin' very toasty). It came in quite handy on my outdoor security gigs at 3:am.

I've always gotten positive responses on it, though I do get some ribbing about looking like a Russian sub commander (think "Hunt for Red October")

I know that feeling, I have a Russian Winter uniform from when I did some WW2 Soviet Reenacting. Great ushanka, boots, and coat. Got me through snowpocalypse pretty well

Great pics. I know all of us look just as good as he does in kilt.

    Not Too Radical

I am not familiar with this magazine, but it seems like the photos are trying to be fashion "edgy". I hope that does not immediately turn you off from Alt.Kilt and think they only produce "radical" kilts.

They have an altkilt classic, while definitely a modern kilt has some very traditional elements: http://www.altkilt.com/custom
Jeanie is also very good about listening to your ideas and customizations. The classic has box pleats and front aprons and a variety of options and materials. I don't currently have one but hope to soon. Nice option for activities that you would not necessarily want to wear a nice tartan tank for.

Heck no. I spent a lot of time looking at the unique offerings for inspirations for ideas on ways to modify Alan's X-Kilt to make it Allen's X-Kilt (that's how I spell my name). I want one of their kilts along the lines of the Steampunk Kilt, but with a few modifications for my liking. I like what they're doing. I just think the furry hat is funny, but what the heck do I know about fashion?

Well... I just sent the kilts and didn't get to plan the other fashion

It was fun to ship a huge box of them to New York and have them get all dolled up for a magazine shoot. Most of my kilts are custom made to order so it was odd to have to come up with multiple styles on my own.
