    Leatherneck Tartan

A couple recent views. Its 13 ounce from Strathmore Mills hand sewn by Kathy Lare (Weird apron drape is about my belly and the wind, not her craftsmanship).

At Box Canyon Lodge and Hot Springs in Ouray, Colorado last month.

Out in the Hoodoos yesterday. Last pic is of the pleats in the wind.

    Semper Fi!

    Nic pics Ron.

I like the kilt hose in the first pic. Do you recall where they came from? They look subdued--sort of OD without being "too" OD. Every time I order hose that are supposed to be olive they show up looking more bottle or hunter green.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

Hey, Ron, if you go to Mesa Verde, say hello to the old ones for me.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

The hose are from Lewis kilt hose folks. Not sure the color name, but that's where I got them.

Blew past Mesa Verde last month - stopped in Mancos for a sandwich and some teasing from some lovely ladies who wanted me to stand over the floor register of the cafe and do a Marilyn Monroe for them. I like Mancos.

Didn't veer off into Mesa Verde...had a lot of miles to go and its become very ant hill like with tourists.

Ya, plus all that climbing in the kilt might be... revealing.
    Oh well.

Mastered Kilted ladder climbing on the Hopi rez during dances.

Normally a gentleman would have his lady go up the ladder first and keep her safe. But a kilted gentleman asks to go first and have his lady follow him up the ladder.

    Nice photos Ron.

I do like that tartan. Not enough to make me enlist mind you , but I do like it!

I have been in touch with Kathy via email and may try to time a kilt completion for the Balloon Fiesta in early Oct. I'll let you know if it works out, and hopefully we can connect while I am down that way!

Cool! Its about an 8 hour drive from Page to Albuquerque - or vice versa, but beautiful cutting across the Navajo Nation.
