Extender Straps Question/Advice
I have a kilt with three straps/buckles that's a bit tight. Not a problem, since I have two extender straps. The question is, should I fasten the bottom right strap since the extenders are going on the left hand side strap and the right hand top
one. I'm thinking if do fasten it, it will make the kilt crooked, but will I create other problems if I don't fasten it.
The other option, is forget about wearing this kilt tomorrow night, and just wear my USA Kilts casual one.

Won't that leave the lower strap flopping around? Not the image I'd want to present.
If you will be wearing a belt, I'd say put the right hand adjuster on the lower strap and leave the top strap loose since it would be covered and held in place by the belt.
Or pin the left strap and put both the extenders on the right side.

if you are extending on the left, and extending on the top right ....unless you extend on the bottom right how on earth would you reach the buckle?
If you don't fasten it, you end up with a loose, dangling strap....
Good luck

Wear it on the two right hand sides and pin the inner apron...with a belt it should be ok... Just my opinion.

If you have three straps, you use three extenders - that's what I've done in the past.

But I don't have three straps. That's the problem. If I did have three, I wouldn't have posed the question.

With all respect Catdad, you do have three straps - you only have two extenders.
Either you have to get a third extender or remove the lower strap and buckle from your kilt. Depending on the type of kilt you have, the third strap is for function or for fashion.
If it is function and is required to keep the kilt closed, then a third extender is required to keep it functioning.
If it is there as a fashion addition; it can be removed. If it is fashion, it falls into the same category as the fringe. Some kilts have none; some one; some two and even some have three.

I would say you need a third extender, I bought a set of three and at first thought I would only need two. After trying it on, I found it worked much better with all three.
Other than that, it must be a trial and error thing, see how you can make it fit comfortably and get all three straps to fasten. If you can't get all three done, I would again say to get a third.

For the moment I'd suggest you just go with the two extenders and carefully pin the third strap to the inside of the apron. But... long term...
With all due respect Catdad, since you say you kilt is just "a bit tight", why don't you try to take off a few inches rather than fiddle with kilt extenders? A 30 minute walk everyday, along with 10 sit ups everyday, will usually take 1-3 inches of a gentleman's waist in less than a month.
A far better remedy than kilt extenders.

This is what I need to be doing. Hopefully I will get some extra motivation and get out there and start hiking or riding my bike again. Definitely not anywhere near the shape I used to be in. It is funny how fast you can get out of shape but it takes a lot of effort to get back into it.
